Phoronix published an article recently comparing different file-encryption strategies on Linux. Among them Luks and dm-crypt this is the encryption scheme used on the Kinguard platform when encrypting data storage for safekeeping your data.

Turns out that the Kinguard platform solution compares is the best solution among the compared solutions with minimal overhead to using an unencrypted solution.
