Re: Problems with security upgrade
Hi Tor, Yeah, my attempts to revitalize the OPI failed so far. I tried both: - Kinguard image installation - OPI rescue image Unfortunately no joy. One LED goes on for a moment, but then no sign of further activity. I managed to connect the serial console to read the boot messages. See below what wa...

Re: Problems with security upgrade
Yeah, I wanted to be a smartie ... I didn't focused on clearing cache or obsolete updates, just thought about manually finding the largest files and removing them temporarily out of the crowded file system. And yeah, I did it... I managed to locate the large size files. The initial root file system ...

Re: Problems with security upgrade
Yeah, it looks that my system is really running out of memory. I managed to access the device via ssh, and this is what I saw: df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on udev 231M 0 231M 0% /dev tmpfs 50M 2.1M 48M 5% /run /dev/mmcblk1p2 1.7G 1.6G 37M 98% / tmpfs 247M 0 247M 0% /dev/shm tmpfs 5...

Re: Problems with security upgrade
Hello, I am afraid I could get hit this error just now. Three days ago (Friday) all of the sudden the mail server started to malfunction, with 'no memory' errors. Self-addressing mail sending attempt ended with: SMTP Error (452): Failed to set sender "darek@mail..." (4.3.1 Insufficient sys...

Re: Cannot return to OPI after failed OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade
Hi PA, Thanks for your help. Indeed, it was me who made wrong assumptions... Having some experience with Raspberry Pi, I took for granted that the SD card contains not only user data but also the operating system. So I was certain that I could select OPI or Kinguard by swapping the SD cards. I forgo...

Re: OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade FAILED
The upgrade is over now and my feelings went from desperation to appreciation! The entire process was so smooth and comprehensive. All my data seems to be in the right place now, just magic :-) Thanks! Perhaps years of developer's experience with embedded devices just paid off. I am very thankful. O...

Re: OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade FAILED
Gosh! Shame on me! I did not realize that you need to have two SD cards for OPI to Kinguard upgrade: first card - with flashed ISO Kinguard image (you just need it for the initial device booting/upgrade) second card - empty formatted Flash that would serve as the Kinguard store throughout it's regul...

Re: OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade FAILED
Supplement. I managed to capture few screenshots of top during the Kinguard upgrade to see, what processes were running that time. 1. Some time in the middle of upgrade 20181208-OPI.02-boot_after_failed_upgrade-top.png 2. Just before the end of operation, before OPI powered itself off. 20181208-OPI....

OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade FAILED
(I've posted two topics related to the same upgrade, although each topic focuses on a separate subject). My MS Windows ownCloud clients were complaining about OPI server being too old, and recently fully refused to synchronize. This pushed me towards OPI-to-Kinguard upgrade. I tried to do it yesterd...
